“Come Back Alive” and Ciklum IT company to support participation of the Ukrainian national team in Invictus Games 2025

The“Come Back Alive” Foundation for Competent Assistance to the Army and IT company Ciklum have announced a fundraising campaign worth UAH 10 million.

The Foundation will use the funds raised to organize, support and finance the Ukrainian team’s participation in the Invictus Games. The event will take place in Vancouver and Whistler (Canada) next year.

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive sports event for veterans and active military personnel who have been injured or traumatized or contracted a disease as a result of combat operations. Ukraine has been participating in the competition since 2017. The peculiarity of the Invictus Games 2025 is that it is the first hybrid competition, including winter sports.

UAH 10 million will help the Ukrainian team to go through all the processes associated with the event: preparation, training with specialists, and logistics. The team will be accompanied by professional coaches, psychologists and rehabilitation specialists who understand the needs of the participants and will enhance their recovery during the Invictus Games. However, this event and the preparation for it are important not only for the participants but also for their families.

“The accumulated funds will be spent on preparing for the competition and supplying the national team,” explains Oleh Karpenko, Deputy Director of the Come Back Alive initiative. ‘In addition to the sporting component, the Invictus Games feature is that the participants’ families are invited to the competition. This creates emotional support and has a positive impact on the families of veterans, helping them to recover not only physically but also emotionally. We are proud to be a part of these processes and encourage everyone to join in.”

Despite the fact that the war continues, the development of adaptive sports and the rehabilitation of veterans through it is a necessary task.

This idea is supported by Ciklum CFO Andriy Oksenyuk. He says that support and reintegration of veterans are extremely important for the future of Ukrainian society. “The Support the Invictus project is an opportunity for Ciklum to make its own contribution to the rehabilitation of veterans through sports and their adaptation to civilian life.

In addition, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Veterans Fund, the Center for Strategic Communications, and the Invictus Games have joined the effort to ensure the comfortable participation of the Ukrainian national team in the Invictus Games.

By supporting such projects, we as a society create opportunities for veterans to recover through adaptive sports.
