“Come Back Alive” and “Kyivstar” will launch School of ground robotic complex operators: fundraising has started
“Come Back Alive” Foundation and mobile operator “Kyivstar” are launching a new joint project — “We Have to Live Here: Varan ground drone operators school”. The goal is to raise 35 million UAH to develop a school that will train specialists in ground robotic complexes in the structure of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Ground robotic complexes (GRCs) are a new trend in unmanned systems. They are used for evacuation, logistics, remote demining, or as firepower. And this is not the whole list.
However, effective work with GRCs requires training. This is what “Come Back Alive” and “Kyivstar” want to provide. The funds raised will be used to build the infrastructure for the GRCs school, which will include maintenance, repair and storage stations for ground robotic complexes, a training area and living conditions for cadets.
“This project will focus on training personnel — more than 200 GRCs operators are going to get professional training every month. They will master the use of engineering, logistics and combat ground complexes. The training will include, in particular, blocks on analytics in mission planning, assessment of the combat situation, which will allow for the most effective use of the complexes”, — says Taras Chmut, director of the “Come Back Alive” Foundation.

In 2024, Kyivstar allocated 50 million hryvnias to assist sappers, as well as 50 million hryvnias to support air defence. Subscribers, in turn, transferred more than 58 million hryvnias to the army last year.
“Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Kyivstar has been constantly supporting the Ukrainian army. And especially those projects that help implement technological solutions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. This project is a logical sequel of our demining initiative “We Have to Live Here 2.0”, because the robotic complexes that have already been transferred to sappers have proven themselves well and should be scaled up to other military areas”, — comments Oleksandr Komarov, CEO of Kyivstar.
