Europe’s Resources and Ukrainian Experience: Come Back Alive Consultant Spoke at the 2026 Munich Security Conference

The annual Munich Security Conference has concluded, where current threats and prospects for cooperation in the field of defense technologies were discussed. Come Back Alive Foundation consultant Taras Tymochko was a speaker at two panel discussions.

We share the key conclusions from the conference.

Taras Tymochko spoke at the panel discussion “Scaling European Defense in Ukraine, with Ukraine.” In his speech, he explained how Come Back Alive Foundation sets priorities, measures effectiveness, and develops the capabilities of the Defense Forces.

In particular, his speech focused on the Foundation’s key project — “Dronefall.” Thanks to this initiative, more than 16,000 Russian drones have already been shot down, including three thousand strike drones — Shaheds and Gerberas. In addition, thanks to constant communication with the military and detailed analysis of their needs, the Foundation serves as a mediator between the military and manufacturers, thus contributing to the improvement of various technological solutions.

At the conference, Tymochko also emphasized that Come Back Alive Foundation does not simply transfer equipment to the front, but serves as a strategic partner to the military. At the same time, for the Foundation’s international and business partners, such cooperation is a kind of “mark of quality” thanks to the careful and responsible use of donations and cost efficiency. Taras also shared that the Foundation cooperates with foreign governments on implementing joint military projects in Ukraine. Such initiatives demonstrate the organization’s growth and scaling.

As for the overall tone of the conference, European companies recognize the need to cooperate with Ukrainian companies that possess valuable practical experience. There was also significant discussion about how Europe has investments and funding, while Ukraine has enormous experience. For example, Latvia’s Minister of Defense devoted a significant part of his speech to countering Russian drones.

The overall conclusion is that these resources need to be combined to develop products and solutions that will serve to protect both Europe and Ukraine. European governments are actively searching for effective solutions similar to those used by Ukraine and are mobilizing resources to eliminate gaps in their own defense capabilities.
