Evolution of the 'Yatagan' School: New Opportunities for UAV Operator Training

The Come Back Alive Foundation for competent assistance to the army, together with PrivatBank, has announced the launch of a new phase in the development of the Yatagan School for Training of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Specialists

Founded in 2024, the school has already trained 811 operators of unmanned aerial systems, and now its capabilities must expand significantly.

The goal is to increase its capacity to 3,000 specialists per year and develop new training directions.

New Stage of Development

The following are planned within the second stage of the project:

  • opening new training directions;
  • constructing additional classrooms;
  • setting up another workshop for UAV repairs;
  • providing the school with cargo and passenger transport;
  • supplying electronic warfare equipment for training in conditions close to combat.

The school operates on the basis of the Armed Forces of Ukraine training center, and its program is developed by Come Back Alive Foundation specialists in collaboration with combat instructors.

The duration of the course ranges from 18 to 42 days depending on the specialization:

  • FPV kamikaze and drop-type drones;
  • reconnaissance and attack UAVs of the copter type;
  • reconnaissance wings.

Investment in Security and the Future

“Graduates of the “Yatagan” school not only receive an official military accounting specialty but also acquire critically important skills that they effectively apply in combat conditions. Investment in the training of military specialists is an investment in our security, the professional development of the army, and the long-term strengthening of the country’s defense capability. That is why we are expanding the training base and opening new training directions,” said Yurii Podlesnyi, head of the instructor department at the Come Back Alive Foundation.

Expanding the Yatagan UAV school requires significant resources and coordinated efforts. To implement this stage, it is necessary to equip training facilities, create conditions for exercises, and provide the necessary equipment and transport.

The Come Back Alive Foundation encourages everyone to donate to this project, which will help train even more highly qualified specialists in unmanned technology and strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability.
