Ukrainians Around the World Unite to Deliver Life-Saving Equipment to the Armed Forces

The Come Back Alive Foundation has delivered 80 oxygen concentrators to three units of the Defense Forces to help save the lives of the wounded during the first stages of evacuation.

The Ukrainian World Congress is an international non-profit organization representing the interests of tens of millions of Ukrainians worldwide since 1967. With the beginning of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2014, the UWC has been actively supporting Ukraine in its struggle for independence. One of the areas of this support is providing medical equipment for defenders and conducting tactical medicine training.

The UWC has repeatedly raised significant funds for the needs of the Ukrainian army. This time, thanks to the contributions of Ukrainians from all over the world and the donation from the charitable brand Saint Javelin, the Come Back Alive Foundation delivered 80 Saros 3000 oxygen concentrators to the Defense Forces, including:

  • 40 units for the 12th National Guard Brigade “Azov”
  • 25 units for the 13th National Guard Brigade “Khartia”
  • 15 units for the Security Service of Ukraine.

A portable oxygen concentrator is used to provide oxygen therapy to wounded soldiers. It replaces traditional oxygen tanks and large stationary devices, making it suitable for use in field hospitals, during medical evacuations, and even directly on the battlefield. Such a device helps save lives: if oxygen is administered within the first 40 minutes after injury, the chances of survival significantly increase.

Saros concentrators generate oxygen directly from the surrounding air and do not require oxygen tanks, which can pose an explosion risk. These devices are designed to operate in harsh environments — resistant to dust, low temperatures, and dirt — while weighing less than six kilograms.

“Don’t think your donations are just a drop in the ocean. They are incredibly important, especially now. The war is not over — it continues. So, invest in Ukraine’s independence and in those who defend it,” — emphasized Andriy Potichny, Director of the Unite With Ukraine initiative.

For the Come Back Alive Foundation, this event marks a historic milestone, symbolizing the beginning of fruitful cooperation with the Ukrainian World Congress. At the same time, initiatives like this once again demonstrate to the entire world that Ukrainians grow stronger when they support one another and unite against a common threat.

“Ukrainians abroad want to feel involved and find ways to contribute, to show that they care. The collective efforts of the community make it possible to raise funds for costly equipment — such as oxygen concentrators — that individuals or small groups couldn’t afford on their own. Together, we can achieve far more than any of us could alone.

We already have new projects planned with the UWC, also in the field of tactical medicine. So stay tuned and keep donating — there’s still a lot of important work ahead,” — commented Kateryna Leschyshyn, Head of International Partnerships at the Come Back Alive Foundation.

The partnership between the Come Back Alive Foundation and the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) began nine months ago. This collaboration is built on shared values and a mutual commitment to effectiveness. The UWC focuses on working directly with the military, having a deep understanding of their needs and providing practical, real-world assistance, rather than seeking media attention or large social media followings. Similarly, the Come Back Alive Foundation chooses partners who share its principles and strategic approach.

“For the Come Back Alive Foundation, this partnership means gaining a strong new ally. Cooperation allows us to use resources more efficiently and to amplify both sides’ experience and impact. This model has already proven successful — as seen in our previous partnerships (for example, with a Norwegian organization) — and we plan to expand it further to other initiatives, such as ‘United for Ukraine’,”, — added Leschyshyn.

This project stands as a powerful example of how organizations such as Come Back Alive, the Ukrainian World Congress, and Saint Javelin can come together around a shared goal and achieve tangible, long-term results that benefit Ukrainian medics and save lives on the battlefield.
