"You donate - they rescue!". The Foundation and Ukrzaliznytsia launched a joint collection for the Armed Forces

The “Come Back Alive” Foundation for Competent Assistance to the Army and Ukrzaliznytsia have launched a joint project called “Iron Support”. Its goal is to raise UAH 48 million to buy case evacs, specially equipped off-road vehicles for evacuating the wounded from the front line.

As part of the project, 15 new off-road vehicles will be purchased and re-equipped. All vehicles will be equipped with inverters, lighting systems, additional batteries and organizers.

The vehicles will also be equipped with electronic warfare equipment to protect the military from enemy drones. The Foundation’s specialists will teach the medics how to use electronic warfare equipment.

Five combat mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces will be provided with case evacs and electronic warfare equipment:

  • 24th King Danylo Separate Mechanized Brigade
  • 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign;
  • 53rd Prince Volodymyr Monomakh Separate Mechanized Brigade;
  • 30th Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi Separate Mechanized Brigade;
  • 54th Hetman Ivan Mazepa Separate Mechanized Brigade.

These units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are fighting on the front line, in particular in the Donetsk region.

“The Casevacs save lives. The need for such vehicles in the Defense Forces is enormous. These are hundreds of vehicles! Within the framework of the Iron Support project, we will provide five brigades with medical evacuation vehicles. It is important that the vehicles will be new, because the lives of the wounded depend on their serviceability and reliability. In addition, we will equip the case evacs with electronic warfare systems, primarily to protect them from enemy FPVs, as the Russians are hunting for medical vehicles,” says Oleh Karpenko, Deputy Director of the Come Back Alive initiative

The off-road vehicles will help combat medics rescue their comrades and colleagues from the front line to stabilization points and beyond, including medical trains of the Ukrainian Railways.

In June, the Come Back Alive Foundation and Tabletki.ua handed over seven specially equipped case evacs purchased as part of the Hope Wheels project to the combat medics of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade Kholodny Yar. UAH 20,937,300 for seven case evacs was raised in a month in February.
