Hope Wheels: combat medics receive seven caseevacs

The Come Back Alive Foundation for Competent Assistance to the Army and Tabletki.ua handed over seven specially equipped case evacs purchased within the Hope Wheels project to the combat medics of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade Kholodny Yar. The brigade’s units are constantly at the forefront and are currently performing missions in the eastern part of the frontline.

UAH 20,937,300 for seven case vehicles was raised in February. The off-road vehicles were equipped with the necessary medical and technical equipment including electronic warfare devices, making them reliable for evacuating the wounded.

In the realities of a full-scale war, evacuations are mostly carried out by non-medical vehicles and can take from 2 to 12 hours or longer. It is important that the evacuation transport is all-terrain and properly equipped.

“The Toyota Land Cruiser 78-based caseevacs will help medics reach remote areas of the frontline, and thanks to their cross-country ability and high speed, they will allow the military to organize the safe evacuation of the wounded more quickly. To this end, the vehicles were fully re-configured and equipped with first aid supplies, as well as radios and other equipment, thanks to additional funds raised. In addition, the vehicles were equipped with electronic warfare devices to protect medics, as they are a priority target for the enemy,” said Lyudmyla Pautets, head of the tactical medicine instructor at the Come Back Alive Foundation.

At the start, the goal was to raise UAH 18.9 million for the cars, which grew to the final amount of UAH 20,937,300. Tabletki.ua contributed UAH 5 million.

The collection involved opinion leaders such as alyona alyona and Jerry Heil (who raised over UAH 2.7 million as part of the National Selection for Eurovision 2024), Anton Ptushkin, various businesses and partners. In addition, Vitsche Berlin (an activist organization that strengthens Ukraine’s presence and subjectivity in Europe) raised UAH 810 thousand for the project during an event in Berlin. A third of the amount raised came from donations from the general audience, including Tabletki.ua users.

“We have chosen to focus on the area of medical care, as we understand that the lack of high-quality medical support is what makes everything else meaningless,” says Yevhen Muravschyk, co-founder of Tabletki.ua. – “Together with Taras Chmut and his team, we realized that our initiative coincided with the request of the 93rd Medical Brigade, so the money goes where it is needed, and the proper use of the collected donations is definitely one of the key tasks of the business today”.

The choice of the Toyota Land Cruiser 78 as the base vehicle for the evacuation was made in consultation with combat medics and experts from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These vehicles were chosen for their reliability and suitability for off-road evacuation.
