On January 22, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree awarding state honors to two members of the Come Back Alive Foundation team — Andrii Moruha and Anastasiia Shvedska.

The information became public after the decree was published on the President’s official website.

Andrii Moruha, Senior Instructor at Come Back Alive Foundation, received the Order of Merit, 3rd Class. This award is presented for significant personal achievements in economic, scientific, sociocultural, military, state, public, and other fields of activity.

Andrii is a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and was among the defenders of the Luhansk and Donetsk airports. The battles for Luhansk Airport lasted 146 days — almost five months, with the final month spent under complete encirclement. Andrii was appointed commander of a mortar crew of the 1st Tank Brigade.

“Before Luhansk Airport, I had never even seen mortars in real life. I figured everything out on the spot. The battery commander had artillery textbooks with him — during the entire defense of the airfield, I reread materials from the first two courses of an artillery school.

That was when we started creating Excel spreadsheets with automated calculations using formulas. Most of us were young, active, and smart — so the training took place directly in combat conditions,” Andrii shared with a Come Back Alive journalist.

During one of the battles, he was wounded and later returned to civilian life. He decided, however, to remain involved in defending the country. He later became a Senior Instructor at Come Back Alive Foundation, significantly strengthening the team.

Anastasiia Shvedska, Warehouse Operations Manager at Come Back Alive Foundation, received the Order of Princess Olha, 3rd Class. This order is awarded to women for outstanding personal merits in state, industrial, scientific, educational, cultural, charitable, and other spheres of public activity.

Anastasiia joined Come Back Alive Foundation in 2016. She is among those to whom the Foundation owes its rapid development and swift response to urgent requests, which have become countless since the start of the full-scale war.

From 2016 to 2022, Anastasiia was responsible for warehouse operations, including inventory tracking, storage of property for transfer to military units, and organizing the maintenance or repair of optics — the Foundation’s core focus before the full-scale invasion. She also prepared managers and instructors for business trips, oversaw acceptance and transfer documentation, and handled related processes.

When the volume of assistance provided by Come Back Alive Foundation increased hundreds of times in 2022, Anastasiia took on document management and organized workflows as efficiently and transparently as possible, despite the enormous workload.

The Foundation’s team is proud of its colleagues and thanks them for their significant contribution to strengthening the Armed Forces.
