The Foundation for Competent Assistance to the Army “Come Back Alive” has completed implementing the “Long Arms of TDF” project. All 31 brigades of the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received reconnaissance and strike systems with 120-mm mortars. The total value of the equipment transferred to the troops under the project is UAH 338,064,692.

Between April 2023 and February 2024, the Armed Forces received from the project:

  • 120-mm mortars – 186 pcs.
  • Off-road pickup trucks – 93 pcs.
  • Motorola radios – 434 pcs.
  • Night vision devices (NVD) – 279 pcs.
  • DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters with additional batteries and remote controls – 93 pcs.
  • Armor calculation and graphic complex tablets with memory cards and covers – 248 pcs.
  • Uninterruptible power supplies – 93 pcs.
  • Generators – 93 pcs.
  • Weather stations – 31 pcs.
  • Monoculars with reticle and compass – 93 pcs.

In addition, six Territorial Defense (TD) brigades received 140 tourniquets each, and three brigades received three Starlink satellite communication sets.

“Our goal was to strengthen the firepower of each of the 31 brigades of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces by creating separate 120-caliber mortar batteries. Until then, the TDFs were equipped with 60-mm and 82-mm mortars. We have provided them with a weapon that can operate at more than twice the distance – up to 7 km – and with 3-4 times more powerful ammunition. It is important that these are new products with sights and everything necessary for long-term operation.

We have not only provided these batteries with munitions and logistics. Another task was to create a reconnaissance and strike circuit around them with an entire ecosystem of reconnaissance, identification, targeting, correction and confirmation of results,” says Taras Chmut, director of the Come Back Alive Foundation.

The Foundation started raising UAH 333 million for the project “LONG ARMS of TDF” in December 2022 and completed it in March last year. Funds for each region – from UAH 10.8 million to UAH 32.4 million – were accumulated separately, as the Territorial Defense Forces are formed on a territorial basis, and regions have from one to three brigades.
