The Foundation covers the need for fireproof uniforms and helmets for Army Aviation

The “Come Back Alive” Foundation for Competent Assistance to the Army has delivered fireproof uniforms and special aviation helmets to pilots of the Army Aviation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the joint project with PrivatBank has managed to fully meet the current need for protective equipment for this branch of the army.

The pilots of the army aviation destroy the enemy from the sky, evacuate the wounded from a few feet away from the occupiers, and perform complex combat missions beyond the limits of human courage. Just recall their raids in the spring of 2022 into the besieged Mariupol.

Army helicopters near the front line mostly fly at ultra-low altitudes to make it harder for the enemy to see and hit them. But even at low altitudes, the occupiers can hit the Ukrainian “bird”. The pilots are at great risk of dying from burns.

High-quality, non-flammable uniforms and special aviation helmets significantly reduce the risk of death for the helicopter crew in the event of an enemy hit.

The fundraising for the pilots’ equipment was completed by “Come Back Alive” and PrivatBank in March 2023. UAH 31 million was raised for the protective equipment.
