DIU Special Forces receive 32 mortars from "Come Back Alive"

The “Come Back Alive” Foundation for Competent Assistance to the Army has handed over 32 new 120 mm mortars for the active duty units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. Their total cost is 32,000,000 UAH.

Thus, the “Come Back Alive” initiative has completely covered the need of these DIU units for this type of weapon, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine said.

“Almost every day we see the high results of the work of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s Special Forces: both in the deep rear of the occupation forces and on the battlefield. That is why the Foundation handed over 32 new Ukrainian mortars to them. This is a powerful collective infantry weapon that works at a distance of up to 7 kilometers and can effectively suppress fire or cover our defenders while performing special tasks,” says Taras Chmut, the Come Back Alive Foundation director.

The Foundation has purchased 100 120 mm mortars for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, Taras Chmut said earlier. In addition to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces has already received seven mortars from this batch. The Foundation transferred three units to the 140th separate reconnaissance battalion of the Marines, and two mortars were transferred to the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi.

As a reminder, the Foundation has recently completed the “Long Arms of the TDF” project. All 31 brigades of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received reconnaissance and strike complexes with 120-mm mortars. The total value of the equipment transferred to the troops under the project is over UAH 338 million. In addition to 186 mortars, the army also received new pickup trucks, reconnaissance, targeting, correction, and confirmation equipment.
